Η ευκαιρία είναι η κυκλοφορία της διασκευής του εμβληματικού «Nightshift» από το Bruce Springsteen. Θα ενταχθεί στο επερχόμενο άλμπουμ του «Only the strong survive». Αυτό θα κυκλοφορήσει τον Φλεβάρη του 2023. Εμείς οι πιστοί της soul μουσικής δεν μπορούμε να μην θυμηθούμε το αυθεντικό άσμα!
THE BOSS SINGS: ΟΙ COMMODORES
Το «Nightshift» είναι ένα τραγούδι του 1985 από τους Commodores. Αναφερόμαστε στο ομότιτλο τραγούδι από το ομώνυμο άλμπουμ τους. Το τραγούδι γράφτηκε από τον τραγουδιστή Walter Orange. Σε συνεργασία με τους Dennis Lambert και Franne Golde. Ήταν ο φόρος τιμής στους τραγουδιστές της soul και R&B: Jackie Wilson και Marvin Gaye. Αυτοί και οι δύο πέθαναν το 1984.
Το τραγούδι κυκλοφόρησε ως το πρώτο σινγκλ του άλμπουμ τον Ιανουάριο 1985. Από την Motown Records. Το «Nightshift» ηχογραφήθηκε το 1984 και έγινε η πρώτη επιτυχία των Commodores. Μετά την αποχώρηση του Lionel Richie από το συγκρότημα. Αποδεικνύοντας έτσι την δυναμική της μπάντας άνευ του πολυμήχανου Οδυσσέα της.
Για τους πιο μυημένους αλά G Poly υπενθυμίζουμε. Αυτό το τραγούδι περιλαμβάνει ένα βασικό φωνητικό από τον ντράμερ Walter Orange. Δεν ήταν η πρώτη φορά είχε τραγουδήσει χρόνια νωρίτερα στο «Brick House». Όμως ο αντικαταστάτης του Lionel Richie, JD Nicholas, τραγουδά τον δεύτερο στίχο. Στη συνέχεια οι Orange και Nicholas μοιράζονται τα κύρια φωνητικά στα υπόλοιπα ρεφρέν.

Ο πρώτος στίχος αναφέρει το τραγούδι του Gaye «What’s Going On». Στη συνέχεια, ο δεύτερος στίχος αναφέρει τα «Lonely teardrops», («Say you will»), «Baby workout» και «(Your love has lifted me) higher and higher», της Jackie Wilson.
